Limitless tells of the journey of Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper), a writer whose career began to fade. He actually has a contract to write a book, but only he can talk than real work to write a book. One time, his girlfriend Lindy (Abby Cornish), Eddie returns the keys to the apartment and dumped him. Lindy claimed to not be able to face Eddie unemployed and have no way to live according to it. Depressed and frustrated with his life, Eddie accidentally met with Vernon (Johnny Whitworth), brother of ex-wife, and chatting in a bar. There, Vernon who are concerned with the life of Eddie, then giving a pill for the brain which is a new product of the pharmaceutical business dark.

On the way home, Eddie was curious then taking the pill and felt strange to him. At home, Eddie felt has superhuman strength and can access up to 100 percent of his brain. He also automatically cleared his messy apartment and start typing the manuscript for his book. This time, the words are very easy to get out of his brain and unconsciously he was working on a lot of pages. But the next morning when he woke up, Eddie felt normal again and did not have the ability to super brain. He went to the publisher to hand over his manuscript, amounting to hundreds of pages.
